The Reginald F. Lewis Museum is dedicated to be the premier experience and best resource for information and inspiration about the lives of African American Marylanders. The museum seeks to realize its mission by collecting, preserving, interpreting, documenting and exhibiting the rich contributions of African American Marylanders from the state’s earliest history to the present and the future. The museum’s permanent exhibition introduces visitors to Maryland’s African American heritage via three galleries: Things Hold Lines Connect, Building Maryland, Building America and The Strength of the Mind. Each will tell the story of perseverance, triumph and the celebration of life through the inspiring history and living culture of Maryland’s African Americans.
Parking
Parking for museum visitors is located across the street at the Dodge PMI Garage at 815 E. Pratt St. $6 validated parking is available.
Hours
Wednesday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m.
Thursday (June to August), open until 8 p.m.
Sunday Noon to 5 p.m.
The Museum is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and the following holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day, and Easter Sunday.
