Star-Spangled Banner Flag House
Where inspiration was sewn and history comes alive! Built in 1793, the Flag House is the birthplace of the most famous flag to ever fly, the Star-Spangled Banner. The historic house was the home and business of flag maker Mary Young Pickersgill, and today operates as a historic house and museum site devoted to the history of the Star-Spangled Banner and Mary’s life and career. The Flag House opened as a historic site in 1927 and was named a National Historic Landmark in 1970.
